Our firm is a family-owned civil mediation practice founded by Donald E. Blankenship, Jr., a practicing civil attorney of over a decade, and his father, Hon. Donald E. Blankenship (Ret.), a respected former circuit court judge in Birmingham, Alabama.

Together, we bring more than 45 years of combined legal experience to the mediation table. Our practice is rooted in the belief that practical wisdom and thoughtful negotiation can unlock resolution even in the most complex disputes.​

Who We Are

Judge Donald E. Blankenship (Ret.) brings unmatched judicial insight to the firm. After 22 years of civil practice—focused heavily on property and real estate-related litigation—he was elected to the bench in 2012, where he served 12 years as a civil circuit court judge in Jefferson County, Alabama. His courtroom experience spans the full spectrum of civil matters, from contract disputes to complex tort claims. Known for his fairness and deep legal knowledge, Judge Blankenship earned the respect of both sides of the bar.

Donald E. Blankenship, Jr. began his legal career in mass tort litigation, working on nationally recognized cases involving personal injury claims related to Roundup, Talcum Powder, Vaccine Injury, and Asbestos/Mesothelioma exposure, particularly among veterans. After six years in this high-stakes field, he transitioned to personal injury litigation, representing clients across Alabama in cases ranging from car accidents to premises liability. His advocacy on behalf of plaintiffs sharpened his ability to evaluate civil claims with both legal depth and human understanding.
